Privacy Policy

nudgee (the “app,” “we,” or “us”) is a personal organizer that turns saved Instagram posts and reels into scheduled action reminders. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how to delete it.

We collect only what we need to make the app work:

• Email address — supplied by Google when you sign in with Google. We use this as your account identifier and to send transactional account emails (none today; reserved for future use).
• User ID — a Supabase-generated UUID that ties your saved items, reminders, and settings to your account.
• Your content — the Instagram links you save, the AI-generated summaries / notes / recipe steps / transcriptions we extract from those links, the reminder times you set, and any search queries you type inside the app. This is the data the app exists to manage.
• Device timezone — auto-detected from your device, used so reminders fire at the right wall-clock time across travel and DST.

We do not collect: precise location, phone number, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, browsing history, or any cross-app tracking identifiers. The app does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

• Account & sign-in — your email and user ID identify your account so only you can read or edit your saved items.
• Content processing — when you save an Instagram link, we fetch its public metadata, generate a short summary and category, extract notes / recipe steps when applicable, and store the result so you can review it later in the app.
• Reminders — when you set a reminder time, your device's local notification system fires the reminder at that time. Reminders never leave your device.
• Search — your search queries narrow the list of your own saved items. Queries are not used for ads, profiling, or shared with third parties beyond what is technically required to run the search.

We use the following processors to run the app. Each one sees only the data necessary to do its job, under their own privacy and security commitments. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

• Supabase (database, authentication, edge functions) — stores your account, saved items, reminders, and settings. Data is held in the region you were assigned at sign-up.
• OpenAI — receives the public text we scrape from Instagram (caption, og-tags, transcription) to generate the summary, category, and structured notes. Per OpenAI's API policy, content sent through the API is not used to train their models.
• Apify — runs the scrape that fetches the public Instagram page's metadata and (when available) audio for transcription. Apify only sees the Instagram URL you saved.
• Google — handles the OAuth sign-in flow. Google sees that you signed in to nudgee, just as with any “Sign in with Google” site.
• Apple — when you sign in with Apple (where applicable), Apple handles the OAuth flow and passes us a stable identifier and (optionally) a relay email.

We retain your account and content for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. On confirmation, we permanently delete every server-side row tied to your user ID (saved items, reminders, profile, stats) in a single database transaction. The account cannot be recovered after deletion.

Items you archive are kept for a short window for undo, then hard-deleted by a daily cleanup job.

• All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted over TLS.
• Server-side, every query is constrained by Postgres row-level security so a signed-in user can only ever read or write their own rows.
• Authentication tokens are stored in the platform-secure keychain on your device.

nudgee is not directed to children under 13 (or the local equivalent age). We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we will remove the account.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Delete your data (the in-app delete works for this).
• Object to or restrict our processing of your data.
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.

If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and surface the change in the app (e.g. via a Settings notice). Continued use of nudgee after the update means you accept the revised policy.
